Our First Blog

I have been told, that I need to enter the new age of blogging.  So here goes.

I started Sackett Ridge Saddlery 25 years ago, combining my retail background with my love of horses.  I have spent the last 15 years specializing in Western Show equipment for the Morgan and Arabian horse.
I found that know one really understood or cared about fitting them.  They are not built like a Quarter Horse.  They have typically shorter and flatter backs.  I found a great partner in Circle Y..to help develop a saddle that answers these needs.  They are cutting edge with technology.  Their flex tree works really well..especially on the shorter back because it has some give.  Add to that their new XPG Gel Bar..Could it get any better ? These saddles fit really well.

  1. I have been shopping at Sackett Ridge for at least 10 years now. I enjoy the staff, selection and the unique gift items that you can not find anywhere else.

The Arabians are a hard horse to fit - go where they know how to fit them.

  2. From Donald Motsenbockers son,

Please consider googling "motsenbocker v. potts" before making anymore buying decisions regarding Abetta saddles.
Motsenbocker also owns many more saddle and tack companies including Action, Abetta, Simco Longhorn, Greg Darnell bits and spurs, Tex Tan, Billy Cook, Saddlesmith etc.
He also owns many retail outlets where he heavily discounts his merchandise, that he doesn't want you the retailer to know about.

Please remember a few things also.

    1. It only costs him on average about 50.00 more to make one of his very expensive saddles compared to his very cheap saddles made in Laredo.
    2. He has all bits and spurs made in China, usually costing him no more than a dollar. Some of these factories are staffed by political prisoners whose only crime is that they are Christian or peacefully oppose the current communist regime there.

This man will cheat you and lie to you, and then brag about it afterwards.

    His son,

    Craig Motsenbocker
